New Additions to GARLAND Management Team

GARLAND  are pleased to announce a further expansion of the company with a number of new appointments to their management team.  Jim Holmes and Brian Lahiff have been appointed as company Directors, while Tommy Morey and Cathal Rigney have been appointed as Associates. Paul Ryan, an Economic Development and Marketing expert, is also joining the company as Business Development Manager.

GARLAND is currently in its 78th year in business and these appointments embody the progress the company has made in recent years, having built up its expertise and international experience by opening offices in Africa, the Middle East, and most recently the United Kingdom. The appointments strengthen the GARLAND management team and secure its continued growth both at home and overseas.

Kevin Rudden, GARLAND CEO and 2015 President of the Association of Consulting of Consulting Engineers Ireland (ACEI) stated, “On behalf of GARLAND I am delighted with these critical appointments to secure the next phase of our growth. These additions to our management team enable the company to benefit from the recovery of the economy in Ireland and continue the company’s expansion overseas.”

Jim Holmes joined GARLAND in 2008 as a company accountant and he was subsequently appointed to the position of Chief Financial Officer and Company Secretary. Jim is a Chartered Accountant with over 30 years’ experience in the fields of accounting, financial and general administration. He has been a vital part of GARLAND’s growth over the past six years and the company is delighted to announce Jim as a Director.

Brian Lahiff, Chartered Engineer, has been with GARLAND for over 10 years. He is one of the driving forces behind GARLAND’s engineering activity and advancements in the fields of health and safety and Building Information Modelling (BIM). Brian was awarded the ACEI Young Professional of the Year in 2014.  He has extensive experience in planning, design, project management, co-ordination and supervision of construction of a range of projects types and sectors. Previously an Associate, Brian is now a company Director.

Cathal Rigney, Chartered Engineer, joined GARLAND in 2005 and since then been involved on a wide range of projects in both the public and private sectors throughout Ireland. He has particular experience on the management of projects in the healthcare sector. Cathal also grew the company’s presence in Saudi Arabia from where he managed major projects in the Middle East. He has worked on some of GARLAND’s most prestigious projects and the company is delighted to announce his new position as company Associate.

Tommy Morey, Chartered Engineer, joined GARLAND in 2006 following graduation with a first class honours degree from NUI Galway.  Based in our Limerick office Tommy has worked as Project Civil and Structural Engineer on projects not only in Ireland but in Africa and the Middle East.  Tommy has contributed significantly to the growth of the Limerick Office and GARLAND are delighted that he has accepted the invitation to join the management team of the firm. 

Paul Ryan is a result orientated international Business Development and Economic Development Executive with a significant track record of FDI and Indigenous investment delivery. His experience includes all aspects of Tourism and Foreign Direct Investment marketing and management, including 4 years in the United States representing both Shannon Development and IDA Ireland. Paul has extensive experience in working in private and public sector overseas project in the Middle-East, Africa, and Central and Eastern Europe. Paul will lead the GARLAND’s continued growth in the Middle East with a particular focus on Economic Development Projects.
