Project Description

This attractive waterfront holiday village at Mount Shannon was completed in 2008. This development consisted of 42 Holiday homes, a retail sales area, a craft sales area, boathouse/office and a jetty on a sloping site on the shores of Lough Derg. The 2,800m2 jetty and marina has 46 mooring bays with 8 in a covered boathouse and accessed via a service road and slipway. Works included the construction of a boathouse, service road and all associated infrastructure works including stormwater drainage, petrol interceptor, water supply, service ducting, sewerage and a small submersible pump station. A temporary onshore settlement lagoon was built to reduce the level of silt in suspension in the run-off from the dredged material and to protect fish life in Mountshannon Harbour.
