Kevin has over twenty years’ experience as a civil and structural engineer. He is a Chartered Engineer, a Registered Consulting Chartered Engineer and a member of the Association of Consulting Engineers of Ireland. He was made a Director of Garland in October 1999, and CEO of Garland in 2011.
His current role as Chief Executive Officer has seen Kevin lead the strategic direction of Garland including the expansion and establishment of the consultancy within the Middle East. Kevin prioritises the delivery of services to the highest standards, establishing positive client relationships and the design of safe, ethical and quality buildings. He continues to develop partnerships and is committed to the growth and promotion of Garland across the globe.
Kevin has extensive experience in the planning, design, procurement, cost control and implementation of large scale civil and structural engineering projects. He has been responsible for the planning, design and supervision of construction on a variety of Business Parks, Airport Developments, Pharmaceutical Plants, Healthcare and Manufacturing facilities.
Kevin has acted as convenor of the Association of Consulting Engineers of Ireland/Engineers Ireland Joint Committee on Health and Safety Construction Legislation since 2005, and has been responsible for co-ordinating the activities of these Institutions in relation to safety and health. Kevin is a member of “Construction Safety Partnership” and the “Construction Advisory Council”, both Cross Industry Body on Health & Safety. He is a member of the “Joint Safety Advisory Panel on the Safe-T-Cert Scheme. Kevin also represents the European Federation of Consulting Engineers Associations on the European Construction Safety Forum. Kevin has lectured intensely on safety and health legislation and has both co-developed and now co-presents the ACEI / Engineers Ireland designer and project supervisor for the design process (PSDP) courses.
Kevin also holds a diploma in Legal Studies, and is heavily involved in Garland services to the Legal and Financial professions. Kevin was a former executive member and treasurer of the Association of Consulting Engineers of Ireland (ACEI).
