Mercer Institute for Successful Aging shortlisted for Excellence Award

"Mercer Institute for Successful Aging (MISA) by BAM" has been shortlisted for the “Engineering Project of the Year” in the 2016 Engineers Ireland Excellence Awards.  The €40m Mercer Institute for Successful Ageing, located on the St James's Hospital Campus in Dublin, was completed earlier this year.  GARLAND provided Civil & Structural services to the Design and Build contractor, BAM Group Ireland.  The project was successfully delivered this using BIM (Building Information Modelling) processes and tools to PAS 1192 Level 2 Standard.   GARLAND have comeplted a significant number of projects wihtin St. James's Hospital

MISA St. James Hospital

The seven storey, state-of-the art facility provides a centralised facility for the institute’s clinical, education and training, research and creative life work with older people. During the build 250 construction jobs were created at its peak. The 15,000m² facility includes innovative early diagnostic and rapid access ambulatory care clinics, in-patient acute assessment, rehabilitation and a continuing care unit with 76 en-suite bedrooms and further ward spaces to accommodate a total of 100 beds. The building also includes research facilities, consultation spaces, meeting spaces, catering facilities, day areas, roof terrace spaces, a courtyard and naturally lit foyer and conference rooms.
