Planning Granted for Iconic Development on Limerick Riverside

Planning has been granted by An Bord Pleanála for a major new scheme at Bishop’s Quay, Lower Cecil Street and Henry Street in Limerick, Ireland.  GARLAND are proud to be acting as civil and structural engineers on this development which extends to up 15 storeys. The development is located across from our Limerick Office.

The development consists of a mixed-use commercial and residential development scheme on lands comprising a brownfield site of approx. 0.4ha, located in Limerick City Centre. The project involves the demolition of the former ESB retail and commercial premises at Lower Cecil Street and Bishop’s Quay.  The works will include the refurbishment of  No. 104 Henry Street Limerick, known as ‘The Bishop’s Palace’ and a 2-storey over basement stone building known as ‘The Coach House.’

The details of the development are the proposed construction of a commercial building comprising 15 storeys and a residential building comprising 7-storeys containing 35 No. apartments all over a 2 storey basement.  The scheme includes the creation of a new plaza on Henry Street and improvements to public areas surrounding the development
