Engineers Ireland Thomond Region Secretary

GARLAND Engineer Peter Power has been elected as the new Secretary of the Engineers Ireland Thomond Region.  This region covers Clare, Limerick and North Tipperary and is known for its innovative approach to science and technology. 

Peter has served on the Thomond Region Committee since May 2015 and during this time, he has been actively engaged in encouraging young Engineers within the region to interact with the institution. He set up the Regions Facebook page and currently manages all public communications for the Thomond Region, he has recently secured sector support funding from Engineers Ireland for a series of videos promoting the role of Women in Engineering.

On 24th May, at the Thomond Region AGM Peter was appointed as Secretary of the Thomond Region of Engineers Ireland in what promises to be a busy year for the region, as they are hosting the Engineers Ireland Annual conference. Peter’s role within the Region will be to assist Chair Barry Lowe with the organisation and running of meetings. Peter will also maintain his role as PRO for the Region in the coming year.

Peter has worked as a Project Engineer at GARLAND for 3 years. During this time he has conducted and coordinated detailed structural designs and project management on jobs encompassing a wide variety of sectors.
