EFCA document provides guidance on BIM implementation and ISO 19650
Jun 11, 2019
In January 2019 EFCA published the final version of ISO 19650 entitled “Organization and digitization of information about buildings and civil engineering works, including building information modelling (BIM). Information management using building information modelling”. This standard, which supersedes PAS 1192 outlines the processes required for the effective management of information, and enables teams to minimize waste and increase predictability through the use of BIM.
EFCA, who are a liaison organisation in the European Committee for Standardisation contributed to the development of these standards. In order to assist in the implementation of these new standards, EFCA have prepared a BIM booklet which provides an outline of the relevance of ISO 19650 to engineers and guidance to its members on how to access the benefits of implementing these standards.
