ACEI Pledge to Net Zero - 2022 Annual Report

GARLAND as members of the ACEI (Association of Consulting Engineers of Ireland) pledged at the end of 2021 to be operational Net Zero carbon emission by 2030. The ACEI have advocated as designers of the built environment, we should lead by example. This is why we have committed to operational Net Zero by 2030 rather than 2050 which the IPCC is targeting. It is our responsibility to act and combat our negative effect on the world.

Part of our ongoing commitment is that we publish an Annual Report tracking  our progress. The report presents an overview of the GHG emissions throughout 2022 and also a comparison against the baseline year, 2019.   The report is in line with Science Based Targets’ (SBTs) of the 1.5°C climate change scenario and exceed the requirements of all relevant legislation and guidance. One of the objectives of this report is to demonstrate the progress made by GARLAND in setting SBTs and to detail the specific journey towards decarbonising our operations across the GARLAND offices.
