GARLAND Expands its Management Team

We continue to strengthen our management team to accommodate the growth of the company.

Michael Fleming, Simon Dunne and Tommy Morey have recently been appointed as Associate Directors. Alan Tunnah, Arran Ankers, Shane Duignan and Igor Kik all join the Management Team as Associates.

 

 

Michael Fleming – Associate Director

Michael leads GARLAND’s Compliance Team. This includes our services as Assigned Certifier under the Building Control Amendment Regulations and our Project Supervisor Design Process Services under the Safety Health and Welfare at Work (Construction) Regulations. This is a rapidly growing area for the Company and Michael is a leader in the field. He is a Chartered Engineer with a Masters in Engineering Management and a Post Graduate Diploma in Health and Safety.

 

Simon Dunne – Associate Director

Simon is a Chartered Structural Engineer with the Institution of Structural Engineers and Engineers Ireland and sits on the IStructE Design Practice Risk and Structural Safety Committee. He has recently been appointed Republic of Ireland Regional Hub IStructE Chairperson for the 2023 / 2024 term.

Simon has a particular interest in Building Information Modelling and aside from having completed numerous project to BIM Level 2 he is a qualified Project Information Manager, Task Information Manager and has presented to the Construction IT Alliance on the BIM Level 2 adoption of the National Children’s Hospital Ireland.

 

Tommy Morey – Associate Director

Tommy is a Chartered Engineer who joined GARLAND in 2006 following graduation with a first class Honors’ degree from NUI Galway.  Based in our Limerick office, he has contributed significantly to GARLAND’s growth in the region. Tommy has worked as Project Civil and Structural Engineer on projects not only in Ireland but in Africa and the Middle East.

 

Alan Tunnah – Associate

Alan is our BIM Manager and has been with GARLAND for 34 years. He has extensive experience in Reinforced Concrete , Structural Steelwork and uses Revit and CAD programs for the production of comprehensive drawings and 3D models. He is experienced in Civils 3D for the production of civil 3D models and drawings and using collaborative software such as BIM360, Asite and Oracle Submittal Exchange.

Alan is a member of the Operations Team and is the Quality Manager to Dublin, Limerick and Waterford Offices – maintaining Quality Assurance to ISO 9001:2015. He is also GARLAND’s Intranet Administrator.

 

Arran Ankers – Associate

With a diverse background in design Safety (PSDP) and large-scale industrial construction safety (PSCS), Arran Ankers holds a Bachelor of Science (hons.) and a Master of Business in Safety, Health and Welfare at Work. Arran has previous international experience on three continents, having represented multinational corporations that are committed to the highest standards of Health & Safety.

He has construction project experience as a safety professional within some of the most heavily regulated safety jurisdictions in the world. Working with GARLAND for the last 7 years, currently leads the GARLAND Safety Team. He administers numerous PSDP projects, some up to the value of €200m, provides a range of Safety Advice and Safety Auditing services for a range of Clients, and undertakes Safety Compliance Investigations for public and legal clients.

 

Shane Duignan – Associate

Shane is a Chartered Engineer with a Masters of Science (Structural Engineering) and currently leads  a Civil & Structural Engineering team in our Dublin office. Having been with GARLAND for 10 years, Shane’s expertise spans a wide variety of sectors including healthcare, commercial, industrial, residential and education.

 

Igor Kik – Associate

Igor, who has recently completed a Masters in Architectural Design & Engineering, has over 19 years’ experience within the construction industry. He has extensive experience in planning, designing, detailing, coordinating and managing teams and projects in both the public and private sector and is well-versed in the Irish BCAR regulations, undertaking the role of Senior Assigned Certifier Inspector.
