Project Description

The project involved converting No 16 St. Stephen’s Green into a cutting-edge, ultra-contemporary building that retains its rich and sophisticated heritage. Originally built in 1779 as 4-storey Georgian Townhouse and converted to office use with a rear 4-storey reinforced concrete structure constructed in the 1960s. The original building is now a protected structure.  To maximize the site’s potential, two heavy reinforced concrete office development floors were removed, along with the heavy brick cladding and added four new lightweight floors. The result is a magnificently restored Georgian building, overlooking the beautiful St. Stephen’s Green, linked by a stunning glass bridge to the impeccably finished 7-storey office development.

GARLAND provided civil and structural engineering and PSDP services for this LEED Gold and Wired Platinum development from concept to completion.
