Project Description

The full restoration of Belvedere House dating from the 1780's in Dublin's North Inner City for Belvedere College SJ. The project involved floor strengthening, feature plasterwork stabilisation and restoration and a full re-invention of building functions. The restored building now completes the end vista of North Great Georges Street one of the most intact historic streetscapes in the city.

The main works included:

  • Structural Upgrade of all floors and ceilings
  • Repairs to the stonework and railings on the facade
  • Fireproofing upgrades
  • Cleaning, stabilisation and decoration of the plaster work on the decorative ceilings
  • Removal of partitions on second floor to revert back to original space plan
  • Upgrade of joinery on doors, frames, skirtings and picture rails
  • Refurbishment or replacement of windows
  • Fitting of kitchen in basement
