Site development works comprised of a new 'one way' through road from Springfield Drive to St. Nessan's Road; the relocation of the existing entrance off Springfield Drive as a site entrance only (no exit); the modification of existing entrance off St. Nessan's Road roundabout into a two way access cul-de-sac, with provision of new hard surface playing areas and a dedicated staff car park on the lower field; the development of a dedicated vehicular set-down area and visitor car park adjacent to Springfield Avenue; provision of general recreational areas; landscaping; site lighting; site boundary treatment works and all associated site works
The existing school was decanted off site to a vacant school to accommodate the project. However, the community unit and church on site continued to operate during the construction works to the school.
Alterations to the existing services and utilities took place before the construction of the extension. The existing central GP block was demolished to allow for the construction of a two storey extension.
